Adjustment Week For New Job + 8 Weeks Out From Marathon! :D

March 22nd-Sunday: Q1-(2 E + 6 M-(6:49/mile-8.8 mph) + 1 E + 4 M + 1 T-(6:27/mile-9.3 mph) + 1 E)-15 miles-(1:47:42-7:11/mile-428 ft of elevation gain) on the treadmill, started in the AM. I had a VFuel gel around 8.5 mi. into it + 20 oz of water with Nuun tablets. I felt pretty good; just a little sore. Foam rolling after +  a bit of stretching. HR-(160-170 during M sessions; 175 during the 1 T)

March 23rd-Monday: 5 miles-(41:08-352 ft of elevation gain) on the treadmill in the AM


March 24th-Tuesday: Off-new job-9am-7pm, exhausted after


March 25th-Wednesday: Off-exhausted and sore after work-6am-4:30pm


March 26th-Thursday: Off-very sore and exhausted


March 27th-Friday: Off-still pretty sore and tired, passed out after getting back and taking a shower


March 28th-Saturday: 8 miles-(64:42 + 4 ST-(10-10.6 mph) all at 1% incline) on the treadmill at PF in the early PM

New Bedford Half Marathon Completed! :)

March 15th-Sunday: New Bedford Half Marathon-(.9 E-(8:44) + 2 ST + 13.1 Race-(1:28:36-6:46/mile-334th place)-14 miles-(1:37:20) combined total. I ran in my Sayonara's. I bonked with 5k to go. I had a VFuel Gel around 8 mi. + another one around 12 mi.; tried getting some water down at the water stops. It just really wasn't working out very well for me today.

56.15 miles-(7:04:09) for the past 6 days! :)


March 16th-Monday: Off from running; went for a 10-15 min walk in my Vibram's

March 17th-Tuesday: 6 miles-(47:20-1% incline) on the treadmill at PF in the early PM + 100 sec front plank + 3 sets of 15 push ups 


March 18th-Wednesday: 6 miles-(47:40-1% incline) on the treadmill at PF in the early PM + a core workout-(3 sets of 60 sec planks x front, r side, l side + 20 sit ups)


March 19th-Thursday: Q1-(steady E run of 110-120 min)-16 miles-(2:04:05-555 ft of elevation gain) on the treadmill, started in the AM. I took a 5 min break at 9.2 mi. into it to use the restroom. I had a VFuel gel around 8 mi. + another around 13 mi. + 20 oz of water with Nuun tablets as well.


March 20th-Friday: 4 miles-(32:48) w/Kurt in the AM. Another 4 miles-(30:34 + 6 ST) in the PM + body weight exercises-(squats-(2 sets of 12 reps-no weight + 12 reps w/15 lbs kettlebell + 12 reps w/35 lbs kettlebell) + 10 reps x each arm lawnmower motion w/15 lbs kettlebell + pull ups-(3 sets of 4 reps each)


March 21st-Saturday: 8 miles-(64:38) in the AM + a core workout-(3 sets of 60 sec planks x front, r side, l side) in the PM

Cruising Right Along :)

March 8th-Sunday: I went to the Spring Ahead 3 Miler in the AM, not entirely sure if I was going to race or not. I jogged around for a couple min and my hamstring felt fine, but still a little tight. I signed up and got my number, 5-6 min into the warm up, the same pain and tightness came back in my upper right hamstring area as yesterday. Really bummed out after this, but I still got to watch my brothers battle it out! Seth got 3rd-(16:48-5:36/mile)-(beating my PR on this course from 2013-16:56-5:39/mile) and Kurt got 7th-(17:18-5:46/mile) with this being his first race back since his pneumothorax this past fall.
1.1 miles-(9:20) + a few ST that were only greeted with pain.

March 9th-Monday: Off 


March 10th-Tuesday: 5.15 miles-(40:28) in the PM + a core workout-(4 sets of 50 sec x front, r side, l side + 30 sec holding leg raise while laying on back + 60 sec same thing + 35 sit ups). I also did 2 sets of 12 calf raises/eccentric heel drops.


March 11th-Wednesday: Q1-(9 E + 2 ST + 2 x (2 T-(12:34 and 13:32) w/2 min jg rest) + .75 E)-14 miles-(1:44:58) in the early PM. I went out too hard on the 1st set with a 6:05 1st mile. It cost me on the 2nd set; I was also really fighting the wind coming off the lake. I cut the cool down by a mile because of my stomach and lack of any energy in my legs. I had a VFuel Gel at 8.25 mi. into the run.


March 12th-Thursday: 4 miles-(33:05-168 ft of elevation gain) on the treadmill in the AM. Another 5 miles-(35:51) w/Seth in the PM + a core workout-(3 sets of 60 sec planks x front, r side, l side w/60 sec rest in between each + 2 min front plank + 40 sit ups)


March 13th-Friday: 4 miles-(32:01) in the AM. Another 6 miles-(47:25) w/Seth in the PM 


March 14th-Saturday: 4 miles-(33:01-1% incline) on the treadmill at PF in the PM

11 Weeks Out From The Marathon! :D

March 1st-Sunday: Off from running; 8 mi.-(20:25) spinning sesh + a core workout-(2 sets of 60 sec planks x front, r side, l side + another 90 sec x front + 43 sit ups-(crossed arms on chest; feet under couch) in 60 sec)

March 2nd-Monday: Q1-(2 E + 6 M-(6:49/mile-8.8 mph) + 1 E + 6 M + 1 E)-16 miles-(1:56:08-452 ft of elevation gain) on the treadmill in the PM. I did a couple strides during the 2 E before starting the 6 M. I drank water with a Nuun tablet thrown in throughout the run-24 oz, and I had a VFuel Gel during the 1 E in between M-sessions. I kept the incline at .5 % for most of the run, and my HR was 160-172 bpm for the M sessions. Non-stop workout; I'm very happy with how all of this went :)


March 3rd-Tuesday: 7 miles-(56:32) in the PM


March 4th-Wednesday: 6 miles-(48:25 + 4 ST) in the AM. Strained my back and hamstrings/groin area in the afternoon moving crates around.


March 5th-Thursday: Q2 session for this week was terminated due to tight, strained muscles in my back and hamstrings/groin area. Day off from running.


March 6th-Friday: 7 miles-(54:41) on the treadmill at PF in the PM. I pushed both of my hamstrings too much on this one, paid for it the next day. My back was fine.


March 7th-Saturday: 1.75 miles-(15:24)-my upper, right hamstring is the only thing causing me pain now
